Mercer's baptism took place the day before his last surgery in his hospital room. Mom, dad, Emmett and Ashton were present. One of Mercer's primary nursers, Lori was there taking care of him that day. Nurse Mona also took special care of Ashton so that mom and dad could dedicate themselves to this somber rite of passage. Deacon Denny performed the blessing.
Afterwards we were visited by a remarkable individual Lynette Johnson from Soulumination. Lynette's warm and compassionate images document one of the last times that all five of us had gathered as a family.
