The morning of Ashton’s birthday he awoke asking for cake. We knew then that he was finally getting to understand this birthday thing. The day of his birthday, a Thursday, was relatively quiet with just mom, dad and Ashton sharing a small cake. The following Saturday was a warm sunny day and the Conrard clan and many other friends came over to celebrate Ashton's second birthday.
