We celebrated our independence by participating in the neighborhood 4th of July parade. Ashton, who loves anything related to super-heroes, dressed accordingly with his red cape. He showed Emmett the ins and outs of participating in a parade. He held on to Emmett tightly as they showed their off their independence.
The following weekend, our friends the Sowers kindly lent us their cabin on Orcas Island. Things move a little more slowly there on the island. Word of the recent holiday took until the following weekend to reach Orcas, so we got to enjoy a second Independence day parade this week from the sidelines.
